Basically all we did was eat (and I also napped). By far my favorite thing to do is to eat good food with my family. I would definitely reccomend Fig and Olive. I think it is a chain but the food was really fabulous and not too expensive.

Private residence at the plaza anyone?

Private residence at the plaza anyone?

caseydonahue:does anyone know where I can find a pair of cazal...

caseydonahue:

does anyone know where I can find a pair of cazal 607’s in NYC?

maybe Fabulous Fanny’s on 9th st between 1st and 2nd Ave? Their flashplayer is awful. Here are my complaints.

1. I understand that advertising is the reason I can watch the show for free. I think a 30 second commercial break every 8 minutes or so is reasonable. However, why they decided I should watch the same commercial 5 times per episode is beyond me. Right now, by my calculations I’ve watched the commercial for “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” 95 times! That’s absurd. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have gotten more than one advertiser. If I have to watch the commercial (i usually just mute and navigate away, but the point stands) I at least want some variety. Or at least a Geico or Apple ad.

2. The flashplayer is so loaded up to keep you from skipping from section to section that it prevents you from skipping within sections effectively. Want to hear that line you just missed? Force quite your browser and start over. And get ready for 3 more Kit Kittredge Commercials. (Do you swear to be true to the Tree House Club? No Kit, no I don’t.)

3.The quality from the Flash player is awful. It’s really bad. Why Vimeo’s video quality is head and shoulders above a broadcast television network’s is beyond me.

4. The page in general is so loaded up with Flash animation that you can’t navigate or even scroll without channeling the spinning pinwheel of death.

5. Their slogan is “Welcome to Our Family. We’re doing something different…” First of all, they’re not. Unless you count not putting your stuff on Hulu. Second of all, their something different is just copying The OC formula and throwing it on screen as many times a day with different titles as possible. “Welcome to Our Family. We’re ripping off Fox.”

6. As if her ads weren’t enough, every commercial break the rest of the screen is covered by Kit, grinning at you like the demonic spawn of Shirley Temple and Macauley Culkin.

Brutal.

my little brother is hilarious. absolutely right. but also hilarious.

From Subway to Silver Screen

From Subway to Silver Screen: I love this story

So I spent the entire weekend working on my final project for my...

So I spent the entire weekend working on my final project for my Interior Space Planning class. I made the entire thing in Sketch Up (thank you Casey for letting me use your computer) and physically built the model out of foam core. Sketch up took from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and the actual model took all day and late into the night on Sunday. I took it into class on Monday night and only 4 other people showed up for class, only three of which had done the project. There are usually 17 people in the class. Anyway so I presented to the 4 other people and the teacher and I guess it went fine. But now there is nothing to do but throw out this massive model that I built. It’s so sad! So I guess I’ll share it with all of you and then throw it away. I forgot how frustrating work for class can be for this very reason. You work your ass off on something and then hand it in - after a breif consideration from the teacher you just throw it out and never think about it again. Bummer.

jimiheffernan:0624081747.jpg: The kindlis here, but my dad is...

jimiheffernan:

0624081747.jpg: The kindlis here, but my dad is not.
